Jackie and Bill Blasdel started WB Panel Company in 1974 and Blasdel Enterprises in 1982 with Jackie running the business until earlier this year.
She always says that she was looking for a part time job and this opportunity arose – she never went home. The business purchased in 1982 had been bankrupt and Jackie had the business making money within 18 months. During this time, her husband Bill was managing American Manufacturing Company as the plant manager. In 1984, he decided he would join Jackie working for her full time.
Jackie was very active in the community of Greensburg, Indiana and the state of Indiana receiving many awards for her service including the Community Service Award (as did Bill) and the Distinguished Hoosier Award from Governor Mitch Daniels.
Ever the entrepreneur, she would like to start another business when her health improves and thanks her employees and customers for making Blasdel Enterprises so successful. Bill is still carrying on at Blasdel engineering and selling ovens.
