Conn-Selmer, Inc. is the leading manufacturer and distributor of Band & Orchestra musical instruments and accessories.   Conn-Selmer first purchased an oven from Blasdel Enterprises over twenty-five years ago, and since then has consistently utilized this oven in their production process.  The oven was custom designed and built to dry the moisture off the musical instruments.   Blasdel has a full-scale testing lab which is utilized to design the optimal oven for each customer’s processing needs. The original electric high volume (Hy-Vol) oven did the job so well that Conn-Selmer contacted Blasdel again in 2016 and used the same basic specs to build a new electric Hy-Vol air oven.  This oven is 56” long x 30” wide x 37-¾” high.  A custom designed wire basket sits inside the chest-type oven to cradle the musical instrument as the moisture is dried off. The oven was designed to be floor mounted.  The Hy-Vol oven contains a 24 KW electric duct heater and a recirculating blower.  It has one heat zone which is controlled by a temperature controller (PID) mounted in the NEMA 12 control panel -UL508A rated.  Jonathan Baker of Conn Selmer confirms that just like the last oven they purchased from Blasdel Enterprises, this new one is efficient and they are very happy with its performance.  The Hy-Vol Blasdel oven requires very little maintenance which helps meet production schedules efficiently.

Conn-Selmer, Inc. is a subsidiary of Steinway Musical Instruments, Inc.
